An Introduction to BLACKBERRY !!

Research In Motion (RIM) a Canadian company is producing Blackberry smartphones since 1999. The term 'Blackberry' was coined by the marketing company Lexicon Branding.

The first Blackberry device was a two-way pager, the 850, introduced in the year 1999 in Munich, Germany. Since then Blackberry designs Personal Digital Assistants, Portable Media Players, Gaming devices etc. All Blackberry smartphones has  ARM 7,9 or ARM 11 processor whereas older Blackberry 950 and 957 used Intel 80386 processor. The latest models are coming with 7OS in place of OS5.

The main feature of all Blackberry phones is Blackberry Messenger; its a software used for sending and receiving instant messages via BB Pin. Other features of Blackberry Messenger includes groups, barcode scanning, lists, shared calendars and integration with Blackberry Messenger Music.

Blackberry smartphones supports push email, mobile telephone, sms, mms, internet faxing, web browsing and other wireless information services.

In March 2011, RIM has announced an Android player which would be available for Blackberry playbook; it is the RIM's first entry in Tablet market.
